Maki writes... Darren Rowse recently wrote a series of posts about increasing your Twitter presence, in which he mainly talks about how to use Twitter by adding value in order to increase your Twitter following. While Darren made several good points, I want to give you my perspective on it, which is somewhat different.

Love this article. I'm a recent Twitter convert, but already there are so many articles on how to maximise the twitter effect. This one makes a huge amount of sense.

Agree. Tweeter related content can old but then comes along another creative idea and it's all exciting again.

Great article by DoshDosh as usual. I am a user of Twitter but wouldn't call myself a Twitterholic YET!

When I first saw this article's headline I thought it would be just another copy of what users already know about getting friends on Twitter, after reading throught he article I will say that this really was a grea article.

A great read if you are interested in doing a little work to expand your Twitter profile.

i especially liked the part about overuse of "following" leading to a thin signal.

i want to know / care about the people who are sending me these little giblets of information.  to quote SEMpdx, it's like having "conversational omniscience", and i want to be in a conversation with people i like, rather than a room full of strangers.

I'm a huge fan of Twitter, and DoshDosh, but I'm not keen on the spin on that article. Although he does talk about the value of having decent conversations, the headline and initial angle of the story could end up with even more people spamming and bulk following....
