There has a lot been said about SEO given a dirty name. Some suggest that controlling the industry with a body might help, but it won’t be as effective as the SEO market itself, though.

I believe that a regulated industry is the only way to go. It adds a layer of credibility in the eye of Marketers and legitimizes the practice.

Regulation? That wouldn’t make any sense. You’re only fooling search engines. If you’re ripping off clients, there are existing laws already in place. Good article.

The market itself will solve the matter :) No one buys from crappy SEOs twice. And yes, no one pays for the work that doesn’t bring results. Far from not paying for useless medical consultation, btw. So I think our industry is way ahead of others.
