There has a lot been said about SEO given a dirty name. Some suggest that controlling the industry with a body might help, but it wont be as effective as the SEO market itself, though.

I believe that a regulated industry is the only way to go. It adds a layer of credibility in the eye of Marketers and legitimizes the practice.
Regulation? That wouldnt make any sense. Youre only fooling search engines. If youre ripping off clients, there are existing laws already in place. Good article.
The market itself will solve the matter :) No one buys from crappy SEOs twice. And yes, no one pays for the work that doesnt bring results. Far from not paying for useless medical consultation, btw. So I think our industry is way ahead of others.
