I (and many others) followed his tweets throughout the day and I thought it would be great to share them all in one place. See comments for the remainder of this beautiful story.

Of course my first thought about this was how you could turn Twitter into an entertainment medium. Adam used it to tell us about his kids birth. Orson Welles may have used it to broadcast the invasion of Earth by aliens. How do we know what youre twittering is real or just entertainment?
Congrats to Adam!
Congrats Adam and welcome to the planet Allison "Twitter" Audette
Started but birth was on West Coast http://sphinn.com/story/46737
@planetic1 you guys should combine sphinns so this goes hot -- heres the original sphinn: http://sphinn.com/story/46737 from aussiewebmaster
@kevinheisler They can both go hot. Doing good so far.May not be the first birth followed on twitter (1st I was aware of) but its the first for a member of Sphinn... AdamAudette
congratulations to the parents! this is exciting. ;-)
Congrats on the baby :) And no, it was not the first one on twitter, not even for a member of Sphinn, because I twitted the birth of my son last Wednesday, beating him by two days :) My twittering was not as thorough though as it was a fast waterbirth and I was in the water with my wife, unable to twit from there.http://twitter.com/hjortur/statuses/811254478
@hjortur HaHa, thats great. Congrats on the big and healthy boy. Perhaps there is a market for a water resistant twittering device. :)
congrats...on a different note, if i even thought of putting my hands on some kind of computer/communication device while my wife was in labor, I would have no hands left...
That was pretty cool Adam - while I was in the woods with 50 crazed 8 year olds I got to read the updates on the birth of your #2. Congrats!
@Neyne; Same here :)
Shouldnt a husband be holding his wifes hand rather than using them to Tweet... :) She is a very understanding and progressive woman! Congrats.
Thanks to all for the awesome support!! I was sweating a few moments during delivery, trying to update twitter while everything happened. I have huge admiration for what women are able to do, its awe inspiring (and a little scary). Moms are bad ass, no two ways about it. Sally is pretty amazing too for understanding while her geek husband did this.@chiropractic thx for sphinning!@hjortur nice work, congrats!@JamesDuthie yup, she is.
I have a vague memory of Robert Scoble updating the birth of his child online, and I think he used Twitter.I became a dad 3 weeks ago, and was Twittering up until we went to the hospital. But a long labour, and rules about mobiles meant that I ended up focussing on helping my partner to painkillers rather than Twittering...But theres been plenty of updates on baby Oscar @badgergravling and on Flickr!
