No one ever heard of Bauhaus Day. An absolute distraction by Google.
Marisa let this one slip by her. A mistake in my opinion with all these doodles.

Actually, the monument at the bottom is the "Monument to the March dead" (1920) in Weimar, Germany, according to the legend in a picture on the Gropius wikipedia page:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Gropius
I didnt know anything about Bauhaus Day, and this graphic led me to read up. Now that I know enough to be dangerous, I thought this graphic was extremely well done. I think its important that Google does branch out and not stick to well known holidays. Their executives will tell you that the companys mission is to index the worlds information for the purpose of increasing the worlds knowledge. Driving curiousity about lesser known events and culture supports that mission.
That Bauhaus sucks... This Bauhaus ruleshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq2RXSboWMs
