You can really only go into details IMO when you are focusing on a niche site. The results just show that:- If you create quality content- Promote it on the right sites- Have more quality content for those visitors to find- Your content will spread and your traffic will grow...There is no "secret sauce" as such, its just hard work and quality information. There was an interview with Maki i read a few weeks ago and he summed things up perfectly, I can’t remember the exact wording but it was something along the lines of:"The secret to my success is no secret, it comes in 2 parts. Creating quality content and knowing how to promote it (through networking)"I appreciate the feedback though. Although I’m not sure if you were looking for a "use this exact article, use this digg account and then enjoy XX traffic"It’s about taking the information there and putting it in your environment, follow the outline and you can achieve the same results.

Neyne Hey mate, as I said on twitter it wasn’t looking at increasing RSS subscribers or anything but raising the awareness of the site. The returning direct visitors are up substantially and its pretty crazy how many people are submitting their content to social sites now

It wasn’t a tongue in cheek question, Only that from our experience and as can be seen from this article: (article taken down due to spam sphinning) these visitors convert very poorly, especially the SU traffic. If the goal of the campaign was brand awareness, then it is great. I just think that when this article is read by people, they should understand that not all traffic was born equal, meaning that 500K visitors from social media will never bring the same (or even close) amount of monetizing conversions like 500K visitors from organic SERPs or even PPC.

This is where some kind of actual goal achievement would have communicated success. Traffic is tired and poor statistic - what are needed are goals that are set and achieved.Of course, I appreciate that Glenn has to retain confidentiality, not least after the immature, unprofessional, and frankly shocking lynching Lyndon got last week.

I couldn’t believe all the negativity around lyndon’s stuff.
