They advertise all over the place anyway and enough people who buy links know about them so don't really see what Google is trying to accomplish.

Exactly - Google actually recommends Yahoo sponsored listings for $299. You can't create the giant and then call it a heretic if ya know what I mean

Umm they really weren't deindexed as a site: search shows

they suffered a ranking hit to be sure but it's not a de-indexing

Hey Graywolf - thanks for checking..seems like they are on page 5 of the search results. I'm wondering if thats almost as bad considering they don't even rank for their own name
