As social media occupy more of our time, it is important to make our interventions as visible as possible. Tags keep classification in our hands and complement what search engine computer indexing may do with our blog contents. With WordPress Version 2.5, using the wp_tag_cloud template tag, a Web Page with the complete tag cloud for any blog is easily created.

2006 is over, why the continued obsession over tags?

I recently tested a series of tag plugins for Wordpress and got zero SEO lift. Google seems to be discounting these.

Try submitting this on a web design forum because it has little or no SEO value.

I guess each of us goes with our own experience, dalka. Check the comments on the blog post to see another view on tag importance.  Perhaps more people than you realize are seeing this as another way of getting more visible.
