"We will keep you updated on where you will be able to find the social news site as we get closer to making the switch."
It means it will be that difficult to find it, the users will have to be told where it is.
Funny way of communicating a complete failure.

I really don't understand why they would do this. I guess if that's what the reports say their users want, it makes sense. But, to me, dropping (or at least "hiding") the social news site is a terrible idea. It appeared to be immensely popular, and I foresee Netscape losing a lot of users as a result of this move.

They did not ask their users, who btw did not want this change .
Yeah I wasn't a major user, but other than it being a pretty huge target for PR link spammers it was a decent resource and a break from the juvenile digg banter once in a while.
@krisfla: I assumed, from the quote below (taken from the announcement) that they had done some kind of market research. If that's not the case, that makes this whole thing even more foolish on their part.
"We received some feedback that people really do associate the Netscape brand with providing mainstream news that is editorially controlled. In fact, we specifically heard that our users do have a desire for a social news experience, but simply didn't expect to find it on Netscape.com."
Well, I had the impression that Netscape.com does not work in the first place so I am not really surprised. Calacanis messed it up and left, so why bother?

I see netscape stories all over Google for some pretty decent keyterms. Will be quite a change when all the urls change. Interesting ...
