I am a SEO Consultant and I would second Jessica on it.. I always make it a point to "inform and educate" my clients on the SEO approach I would be using. It helps in a way to have quick and informed decision making.. the clients understand the importance of doings things, not just "adding keywords", or "optimizing title tags", or just "add meta-tags".. It tells them the "why" of the solution.. Check out a praise by one of my clients.
