Great illustration of the interaction and interdependence (is that a word?) between the various factions of search marketing, with a touch of humor thrown in as well. Would be great for getting corporate honchos to understand the necessity of each of these aspects.

Hopefully more than ORM, I’d rather have an SEM2.0 *star* than an SEM2.0 Square! ;-)

I have a couple of notes on why this doesn’t do it for me.A) That’s a triangle. So is Matt McGee’s. I’ve pointed this out to him, but his at least has individual building blocks that form said triangle. I’m sure they’d look three dimensional in real life so I let it slide. This has no building blocks. It is a triangleB) The meat of the triangle consists of three words...while I get the idea that the discussion afterwards matters more than the visual, I think that it’s a bit hasty to throw up a triangle and put 3 words in the middle. On the other hand, I do like how the triangle explains the give and take of our industy to beginners and those not affiliated with SEM.

A)  @Syzlak lol... lmao really, that was awesome, thanks. :-) Yul and I will work on a more impressive triangle.  Maybe I can recruit an artist from the Sphinn ranks to help.  I wasn’t happy myself that there were no bricks... of course, we haven’t figured out how to import images into gliffy yet ;-)B) Technically, you’re right, I could have put 5 or 7 or even 15 words in the middle.  Not sure how many words is enough to put in a triangle.  I’ll have to research that.  Yes I’m being a sarcastic ass-hat.But thanks for the real compliment- most of my thinking lately comes from trying to build/run an SEM/SM/ORM department, and explain it to account reps and clients, so that’s a good thing that it might help beginners.

TLA FTW. This new marketing really is awesome to watch develop. I am glad I found my focus in marketing at an early stage in my professional life. Nice read

@mattcgee Matt, I hope that’s because you just don’t like bricks and not because you think your pyramid is better than mine.  Cuz it is.  You watch out, if I get some bricks, your’re gonna be in trouble.  ;-)  Regardless, John Wooden fans unite!  (fist in the air)
