I must admit, I'm addicted to it. It is such a shame that it isn't working as well as it could be, especially now with all of us talking about how great it can be...new ppl come along, check it out, it fails, and they're off. I wish others could see the great benefits - so when I see an article like this, I've got to say thumbs up :)
I do so agree with you Barry. But I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking let's keep this thing to ourselves. It gives us such an advantage, lol.
I love getting such quick replies from so many people when I have a thought or question. Thanks to a tweeted question the other day I learned about a two sided scanner and had one ordered within the hour. Already in use.
If you're even a slightly known blogger, I'm sure people are falling all over themselves to help you and answer your questions. But are popular bloggers going to take the time to answer the twitters of an unknown?
Good point, DarkMatter. That's true of any social medium. Sphinn is the obvious proof of what you're saying.
One advantage that Twitter has is that it's very immediate. Indeed given its current problems, you can often not see the history. My mental picture of Twitter is of sitting on a train and watching what flashes by the window. Provided you are following someone, then there is a chance that you may see their question. As we all know you will succeed most in social media if you're sociable. This is a way of giving back. As the Bible says, cast your bread upon the waters. ...
Twitter and SecondBrain? It's like comparing apples and pineapples ;-)
.. and sometimes you need a hammer and sometimes you need a Phillips screwdriver. :)
Nice article Barry. For sure Twitter is truly excellent!!
