It's difficult to take a who cares attitude to tool bar PR when so many people do seem to care about it..
Not so many people but TOO many people. PR is definitly overrated.
We all had our obsessions early on with TBPR. The only ones who care are those who sell text links based on their visible PR.
I think it is a very poor business model to base your revenue on something you have absolutely NO control over.
I'm definitely not sphinning this...
It's OK Halfdeck. Your comment like that was unneccessary but I appreciate it. It would be OK if you could provide a reason. It's not that I'm begging for sphinns but I'd like to hear what's wrong with my post so I can improve my writing.
DaveDavis: I agree with you and I heard Google is very good at finding paid links and their next algorithm is going to crak them down...but then again, what's Yahoo Dir if not a paid directory? :)

Sheesh bsdpowa, I was just trying to be funny. There's nothing really wrong with your post. I'm just biased against anything having to do with TBPR updates.
Sorry I didn't spot teh funny :).
There's like 1/10 relation between TBPR haters and lovers, as least that's how I see it on DP. Whenever there's a new thread talking about stupidity of PageRank there are ten threads asking when the TBPR update is going to occur :).
I'm with Halfdeck on this one: http://sebastians-pamphlets.com/green-tranquilizes/
Thank you for letting us know. Now I can pass the info on to those who ask me.
When clients ask me about PageRank, I ask them which they would prefer:
1. Targeted rankings delivering targeted sales traffic
2. An extra little green to the PageRank display line
Push that attitude on them, and they tend not to worry too much about PageRank. :)
