It is hard to read a strong, edgy perspective that ultimately retracts its tone in an update.

I didn’t really retract what I see; I only changed my perspective on whether they are intentionally designing their system to be evil or the negative effects are caused by their short-term focus and lack of awareness regarding how their actions affect others. Whether evil is the intent of someone at the top at Google only that person knows for sure. [I do still consider their "Don’t Be Evil" slogan a red flag; truly benevolent people don’t have evil on their minds.] I can guarantee that the effects are going to be very painful for many online advertisers. My mantra is diversify, diversify, diversify and I mean in a big hurry before the holiday shopping season gets into full swing. I’ve made additional posts pointing out what is going on with Google Adwords. I hope some are wise enough to take action in time. Last holiday season bidding got ugly; expect far more of the same this year.
