I got a pop-up layer pushing an opt-in newsletter/course when I clicked over to the site. That’s a tad annoying for some social media audiences.

I got the same pop up as Maki. Very annoying, but even worse it disabled my ability to scroll to read the rest of the article (and covered the remaining content). Didn’t pop ups go out years ago?

Hey DoshDosh, don’t call me annoying! ;-) Btw. I can’t access this site really, it’s darkened but as my layer ads blocker obviously works I can’t switch it off.

Thanks everyone.I appreciate the comments here.  The dark pop-up was a light-box that I have been trying out for the last two months.  It doubled my subscription rate. However, I have had a few complaints as well, and your comments here confirm that the extra subscriptions may not be worth annoying people.  I changed it back to a simpler offer.
