i didnt know that putting analytics code at the end of the body will speed up page, good to know.
It really depends which kind of anytics you use, if they are beefy for large sites than yes :)
#3 is not that important you can live without an XML sitemap in many cases. The most important SEO mistake is telling others you do SEO.Make sure to also check out these 10 mistakes:http://sphinn.com/story.php?id=52213
This is a good list for those, like me who are still very new at SEO.
The Wordpress doesnt work
Appologies my entire network of sites have been hacked. Not for the first time may I add - I will try and get this online within the next 24-48 hours. Admins feel free to remove the bookmark.
Is back up...lots of WP hacks going on at the moment..
1. Using the same keyword more than twice in a Title tag - Having the same keyword listed in your heading 3 times or more will in fact reduce the relevance and strength of those keywords. Most important factor is that it’s readable to the user and is an accurate description of your page. Keywords or phrases? Many of my title tags repeat a keyword more than once, but as part of different phrases. Works well for me?3. Not having a Valid XML Sitemap - Create one and submit it to the webmaster consoles on the major search engines. Not necessary, but a good to have.4. URL’s not containing any keywords - Yes, I’m still seeing utterly useless URL structures. Just remember to include an accurate description of the page content in the URL.May help a little, but not essential. See BBC news URLs.10. Not having a 301 redirect setup - It’s not hard to do and it will help with your indexing like you wouldn’t believe!301 to where? www to non-www or vice versa is good.
This is a great artcile from Matt..^^ it is really important to keep in mind these SEO mistakes...^^
Its a pretty good list, but there was only one thing I took issue with. Its not always advisable to have your analytics code at the end of the page, depending on the type of coding language your website uses. You can occasionally get away with putting javascript code at the end of the XHTML, depending on whether or not it has a grand effect on the pages presentation or if your developer has coded the page in such a fashion where the presentation wont be largely affected by it. But analytics code? I think it might be best to test what works with your site, and if you run into a situation where its going the same either way, THEN place it in the bottom. In short (or long, I guess lol) talking with your web developer and testing out the options might work best before you go making decisions all willy nilly. Ive linked Googles support page about this, just because itll give a slight background on the issue. Should I add the tracking code to the head or body of my page?Hope that helps a little. :)
