An excellent post, and quite funny, by Patrick at SEOish. He states, "Links are unnecessary to attaining traffic." Check out his reasoning behind this.

Great piece, you obviously put some 'elbow grease' into it and gave a great 10,000ft.. macro perspective about site usability and theory, not just "SEO"

#4) "Trends are important. Use them to decide what not to do" - is 'social media' not a trend?

Great post! You have a point about the trends and I especially like point 2. Traffic is really the goal and good SERPs are only the tools.
