Authority. We all want it. Authority is sexy. Practically every blogger is chasing it in some way, shape or form. Authority brings power, respect, visibility, opportunities and loyal followers.

Ooh, there are some harsh comments dismissing this approach as currying favour rather than adding any value yourself.

I suspected the article would be misinterpreted by some people. That's ok. They're entitled to their opinion. The feedback has been predominantly positive, so I don't believe currying favour was the general perception.
