I certainly enjoyed your presentation. It's forced me to go back and rethink a few campaigns that I was running. It's so easy to just copy and paste sometimes but its truly worth the effort to dig deeper up front.

Excellent review of how to properly use the content network. This is the approach that we've taken with it and the results have been very positive.

To take things one step further, you can use the data from the Placement Performance report in adwords to isolate better performing websites in the content network and then target them individually by placing them into a separate campaign and setting a seperate budget for better control and performance.

Good stuff.  I used to have the bias against content network that many people blogged in the last few years, but found that when you test it separately, for some accounts it's the best source of business results- like everything else in PPC, you have to test it.  In fact that rash of bad press for content network led to one client not even being willing to test it, but we finally got him to come around after about 9 months... :-)

This was the best presentation at SMX Advanced, IMHO.  Very practical and informative.  David already knows this ;) but I thought I'd point this out to the rest of the Sphinn crowd.
