For anyone who hates having to change their passwords because it means memorizing a new one, I built this nifty little tool that generates strong passwords with built in mnemonics. Please, feel free to share this with your family members who still insist that your birthday is just fine for their password needs. :)

Useful, thanks Michael. Another big help for passwords is to introduce your nearest and dearest to a password manager program. Otherwise they end up only using one password online. If someone manages to break one, they have access to every service they have ever signed up to!

Keepass is very good (http://keepass.info) or Password Safe (http://www.bytecode.com.au/passwordsafeswt/).

Here's two easy password generators:
1) your computer's serial number.  Pretty random and not easy to remember the first time, but you always know where it is.
2) use a combination of year, your car, and something about the car like 04fordmustang2dr or 98pathfinder4wd, 2006hcivic5spd, and so on.
