SNIP - Riddle me this… If I asked you to imagine a picture of a stereotypical SEO what would they look like…? Glasses, buck teeth, bald, badly dressed… with suspenders holding up their pants…? Perhaps not quite. But the words ‘search’ and ‘geek’ have become somewhat synonymous over the past 10 years.

If you’re going to write about the history of SEO, do your research! For starters, several of us who were there were WOMEN working naked in our home offices and cutting our teeth on the porn industry so you weanies today would have boobs to look at for free. Not to mention some really scary looking dudes with beards down to their knees, many long haired hippie guitar playing non-geeks (one whom invented cloaking) and some kids just out of college plucked by some of the early dot-com’s who helped drive up the prices of stock with their SEO efforts.Really. I never met a geek in the 90’s who was an SEO. Colorful eccentrics, yes.Workaholics, definitely.
Geez... who would have thought people would take this post so seriously...? The geek part was just a bit of fun and not the actual substance of the article, but it seems to have certainly touched a sensitive nerve with some.
