For more than a decade the internet has been a world of dotcoms, dotnets and dotcodotuks. That could all change, however, with a new scheme to liberalise the way websites are named, creating a whole new generation of addresses such as .bank, .sport and .news.

No, it will just bring more spam and phishing.
There is a great potential for phishing and spamming but if ICANN and TLD managers can control the domains that are being registered. The Internet will evolve in a way that we have yet to see with incredible niche areas being carved out.
It wont happen. Theyll take the money and run.
