Opening up TLD’s makes a rush of new domain names available. Yay! The Bad news is independent entities will control each TLD, charging whatever they wish for domain names, or disallowing access entirely. So much for competition and free markets!

I have to disagree with the monopolies idea in the article. However, the final statement on .free is ver thought provoking around the Internet as a free publishing medium.
