My first thought when I read it was, "Why would Matt be telling everyone this?"

My second thought was, "I wonder if someone is suing them for privacy violations of some sort, and this is to document some sort of legal position for the court case".

My final thought was, "I'm sure Matt will just say that he thought it would be nice to share".

:)

I say: if they're eating what we feed them, we should feed them some delicious cooking.

Spam on toast anyone?

This may be a response to an earlier post on SEOmoz discussing how much of your personal data Google has at its disposal. One of the issues Matt responded to was the use of cookies, where, for example, if you search [malpractice] and then search [lawsuit], you see Google ads targeting [malpractice lawsuit]. Matt objected that cookies weren't used in the way portrayed by the blog post. This could be an extension of that discussion.

Way too much paranoia over here. Google clearly states that they're using this data to filter out bad data and not track individual users. This makes perfect sense and is to be expected.

Ok, so if I rifle through your stuff looking for what I could buy you as a gift, cool? But if I am going through your stuff to see what kind of panties you're wearing it's a no-no?

I thought so.
