Google knows full well that getting the US, EU, Iran, China, etc. to agree on anything beyond the vaguest framework is ludicrously unlikely. When you are the world’s most privacy invasive corporation it is extremely hypocritical and self-serving to request an overarching ambiguity in place of potentially rigorous local and regional court challenges, i.e. the EU. Well played ball by the Google legal team. The question is whether anyone at the UN is silly enough to return volley granting Google an imaginary highground upon which to crow further.
