One of my sites recently had the privilege of reaching the front page of reddit and Digg simultaneously. Then, it progressed to become #1 on reddit.com, and #1 on Digg’s “Top 10 in All Topics”. You can imagine the beating that can have on a database driven site!

Dont expect a terrific article with in-depth analysis. Sphunn purely for inspirational purposes.. Im sure the social media marketers out there know what I mean :)
Although the article could have included more details, it was nice to notice the joy of the author when seeing such figures in his statistics. It reminded me of the first time Ive experienced the power of social networking.
I also think it is funny because the author said they "went to bed". I so do not believe this, I had the same thing happen and I didnt sleep for like two days, I just hit the "update stats" link in my awstats and smiled. For about 36 hours or so.
I would love to see a more in depth article including technical information, profits etc but maybe one will come soon. Im still waiting for the day I hit big on a social news site!
@SEOish Yeah.. I would have loved to see which article it was that got to the top spot on both sites. And I know what you mean about checking the stats incessantly... :-) @Adam Youll get there one day. Everyone gets their 15 minutes on Digg or Reddit at least once in their life...or so I would like to believe :)
I dont know if I could stay up all night looking at stats. Sure stats are one thing, but every time Ive been on Digg, Reddit, Slashdot, Fark, etc... I havent made any more money than usual. Ive found that my ad clicks remained steady despite the increased traffic from some of these sites. Now, stuff like Kim Kommando, yahoo, or good housekeeping site of the day, or a mention on a local news website... those visitors click ads!
