That post was a great example of user interaction. Without the comments the piece would hold a fraction of the appeal it currently does.

Several things about the post... Title is a question. First two sentences are questions. Last sentence asks for participation. With an audience of over 20k odds were good there would be responses. Had Brian Clark created this post, those numbers would likely be double. What’s particularly interesting is the comments are not of "great post" nature. There is a potential article in nearly each comment.
