3) If you’re desparate, the robots.txt wildcard

Personally I wouldn't even mention that one though, its not even a last resort and letting Google handle it themselves is a better approach than disallowing the whole session_id wildcard IMO

Agreed - it's a nasty solution and rather volatile. I've found seo's who use wildcards always come across an unexpected problem later on. Solving one problem by creating another. "Last ditch SEO"
