If I were stranded on a desert island with anyone, it would have to be either Grace Park or Doug Heil. Both have their entertainment values, just in different ways...
Well written and insightful Todd, well done.
@ Rob - Not Rick Astley?
nice assessment, todd. i wonder if the rest of the hanger-onners in his forum are going for the same market niche or if theyre just props for his cornering scared consumers?
The great thing about Dougy is that he always makes for a decent blog topic on a slow news day.
The problem with this post is that it presumes Doug is actually a moral/ethical person.
Thing is, Doug has been right about what constitutes spam, and/or unethical or underhand practices, more times than he has been wrong - and by a very large margin; like "lots" plays "almost zero" - with thinking that is perhaps some two to three years ahead of the "follow-the-latest fad" sheep-mentality group-think that somehow passes as your average "SEO gameplan" by the average "SEO practitioner".<div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Hes not the only one in this industry who thinks that many people who say they practice SEO, are actually doing things for their own short-term monetary gain, but which have long-term negative repercussions for the sites that they are working on, and/or are doing things that are not necessary, are plain wrong, or are just a very bad idea. The industry is evolving, but not fast enough to get rid of the slimier end of it. </div><div></div>
Jill. Is it true that you tried to nick all of Dougs moderators when you stopped being a moderator at IHU and left to start up your own forums?<div></div>
You would think people in the business of marketing and reputation management would have more common sense than to post personal attacks that their customers might read. Now in fact youve called your own ethics into question and probably sent more customers Dougs way.Nice job!
