Hmm, user name was registered 2007-07-10 while the site was still in test... so that’s probably the real Matt Cutts. Well, John Honeck, at least you know that MC actually reads your blog.

It’s not easy to play a joke when you’ve got people of the caliber of Matt Cutts and Michael Gray pointing out the trick! :)

JLH, I can’t believe you store my prank and didn’t give me credit. :P Btw, more effective if you actually set the num value to a positive number, like num=100, and the results still show him as banned: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&num=%30&q=matt+cutts&btnG=Search

mvandemar, stole is such an ugly word, I like republished instead :) I applied the concept based on a trick I’d seen in an email, but seriously, send me (PM if you’d like) a link to credit you with and I definitely will. I know of your sage advice given at DP and don’t want to cheat you out of any credit due.

Heh! John, I was kidding, I don’t need a link. :P I posted it on DP and SEOR... they caught on faster at SEOR, and there are *still* DP’ers who are replying after the first post because they can’t be bothered to read the whole thread, wondering what is going on. :D It’s a great way to scare the hell out of your friends, sending them a modified site: command of their websites*. ;) *as long as they don’t have weak hearts, lol!

Heh. aglobalwarming, I can just imagine your emails: "I have removed you from the internet. Pay me ONE MILLION dollars for your site to show up again."
