Glad I am not the only one seeing this! I thought it was a bug & was doing as many searches as I could to record the #s. :D It would be great if this were a permanent feature.
Googles new estimated volume stats is sure to shake up the way users bid for keywords and will probably play into their hands, increasing revenues along the way.Overall though, its a great move as in the past, weve all had to second guess those irritating blue bars?!!
Yes these Google Keyword Tool are also quite interesting for use by German SEOs.
love the desphinn, rjonesx, thought I lied and made it up. well, now it is official http://adwords.blogspot.com/2008/07/keyword-tool-updated-with-search-volume.html
Ii wonder if this is traffic totals from the organic side of things, PPC or both combined?
Wow... this tool looks really useul and pretty accurate. Make sure you have it on exact match if you are using it for SEO. I suspect it is the same as AdWords impressions share which combines SEO and PPC searches (I think) e.g. the reach. I am looking at some heavy volume UK brand searches and there is a shorfall from what Google is reporting by about 20% - however I have not segmented the analytics by UK. When I look at the world (heavy volume) brand searches there is a shortfall of less than 10%. I have done this for a couple of sites that get over 10,000 brand searches a month and so far I am very impressed.
@incrediblehelp - "These statistics show the approximate number of search queries matching your keywords that were performed on Google and the search network"
This will have major implications to companies like KeywordDiscovery & Wordtracker for sure.
