I still am only getting the bar graphs showing estimated volume. Do you have to be special to get the actual numbers?
Noticed this yesterday: http://sphinn.com/story/57468
Jeremy, sorry for missing it.
Baryy, no problem at all. I just wanted to add the link to my post as I think Im the only one who posted about it that actaully saw the announcement in my MCC....which makes me think this is a feature we will see live very soon and not just a leak/accident. Keep up the great work at SER.J
I wonder how accurate these estimates are. I know theyre supposed to be estimates; but Ive always wondered about how close Googles estimates are to actuality. Id like to see if anyone monitors their actual impressions vs. the search volume numbers and posts results a month from now.
When I first saw this in my own account, it was so different than what I was used to seeing that I gazed right past it. At that moment I was actually demoing the Keyword Tool for a coworker and quipped "it must be broken or something, theres usually bars here". Then it hit me. Wow. Numbers.Until now, I have never really cared for keyword tools that give actual keyword volumes because I never trusted the data sample size. I implicitly trusted Googles data bars more than many sources keyword estimates because Google has the sample size and the intelligence to make it work. The exception had been the now-defunct Overture, which had a reliable enough sample size to see what terms really bubbled the to top, albeit solely in that engine. Now that Yahoo is opening up its engine, maybe well see a resurgence of tools based on Yahoos keyword volume. All in all, both of these announcements are great for search. It will be interesting to see if Google exposes their keyword estimates to the API.
Really, really helpful. This kind of tool can make predictive PPC a little more possible. Obviously, you cant judge your competitions bids very closely, but you can get a rough estimate on the amount of clicks a certain keyword will net you in a month. Thats invaluable.I cant tell you the amount of times Ive throw a bunch of broad longtail keywords in the account based on the search volume bar and gotten varied actually results after a week of monitoring it. This will hopefully take some of the guesswork out of it.
