I am constantly searching high profile search phrases to see how and why certain sites rank so highly. Often I am surprised the things sites do with unnatural linking that still work wonders.

I thought hidden hit counter links were rendered useless years ago. To my surprise they are still working great. Lately, I am getting requests for 1 pixel by 1 pixel hidden image links from SEOs.

I guess if you have a new site and want to sell fake Rolex watches, or Viagra, these backlink methods might make you a quick buck. With an established site I would never take the risk.
