I noticed recently that twitter.com has recently made a change to their site that is causing them to spam Google and the other search engines by allowing duplicate content to get indexed by the search engine spiders. I don't like how they're allowing my profile to be mirrored.

Is it deliberate, or just the age-old problem of people that have no idea about the footprints they leave behind in search-engine listings?

probably not deliberate, but they have a robots.txt file that stops SOME from getting indexed, why not make sure that they stop the other subdomain spam from getting indexed?

I disagree it not being deliberate. I am also saying the owners may not be aware of it, but to me it looks like some SEO friend or company advised them to do this.

It really is not being deliberate; but by allowing all of that content to be mirrored it's not a good thing.

Ok, I get that it's not great for duplicate content to be indexed, but it's hardly spamming and I would argue it's not even Twitter's fault or issue. If Google doesn't like it, they can sort it out themselves!

Sorry Bill, but your definition of "spamming" is WAY off.
