WOW! This requires some time and attention. There are many "take aways" from this article! I actually put a line item on my task list to schedule time to study more in-depth and watch video. From site:Attention Conservation Notice: The following post contains a long post on controversy in the field of viral marketing and a long (30 min) video case study on viral video marketing presented by Pam O’Neal Mickelson. It presents advice on what to do and what not to do when it comes to producing and distributing a viral marketing campaign.
Now, that was thorough :) Great points on creating legitimate value out of viral video. Why is that we figured out impressions were useless without clicks and then that clicks were useless without conversion, but we still think that tricking every idiot and their brother into watching a video is good business?
Dana & Pete - Thanks for the feedback. Its a lot to bite off at once and probably more of a guide than your typical blog post, but I have to agree there is a ton of strong, actionable information in there.
