BlogRush isn’t a novel idea. A couple of months ago, I was contacted via MyBlogLog about the Criteo widget that displays related blogs. I gave that a try for several months and it didn’t do much to drive traffic. In fact, I noticed that the pure existence of another widget is clutter.

Frankly, the number of people who keep submitting about it are putting me off the entire service as overhyped. At least with MyBlogLog, you understood it was growing in popularity before people talked about it by seeing it actually show up on web sites.

srsly you can’t ask "why the fuss?" without further perpetuating the very fuss you complain of.

It’s "Banner Exchange 2.0". I am just thinking about how to create a "Webring 2.0" application ;)

MBL is still a favorite of mine. People like images. But words = information overload. I don’t need to get more blog titles suggested to me. My thoughts on that coming soon. ;)

It’s an interesting concept, but where is the data pulled from? Is it crawled or pulled from Technorati, or is it purely data from other BlogRush-participating blogs?

It’s a "banner exchange" program -- participating bloggers desperate for traffic?
