I was all up in arms at first going "What do you mean it's not important?!?!?" until you stated that Website age is what's important.

"Oh, ok, yeah, that's what I meant. We're good now."

Indeed, it's not the age of a domain - it's the search history that appears all important.

That's why for a few years now it's been standard SEO practice to get at least a holding page (but preferably a couple of basic pages) up on any new domain registration.

In round-about terms, the age of a domain name — much like most of the criteria assessed by any search engine — is often not much of an indicator of anything in isolation.

Such criteria often come into their own once they're cross reference with several other criteria...
