Sphinn Home » Social Media
Social News tends to be very transactional in that, you ask and you get something. You submit a story, you get people to "vote" (Digg, Mixx, Sphinn or Kirtsy "it up"), and then what? What's the gain? What's the return? Where's the building of relationships or trust? What comes next?

Some sites, realestatevoices.com for example, isn't social at all - it's just a spam-infested marketing platform for real estate agents and spammers.

In a way, too much socializing rubs some people the wrong way on Sphinn. Some users look at Sphinn as just a news feed. Even a happy birthday post created controversy because a Sphinner's bd isn't news worthy. So, while Sphinn is social, there's a conflict. A possible solution is personalization and advanced filtering. If I don't want to ever see water coolor stories, for example, Sphinn will filter that out for me using cookies and user profile setting.
