Thanks for sphinning this, David. .. and thanks for writing it, Donna. Ive largely given up on Sphinn for all the reasons that Donna mentions. As I believe Thumpers mom said "if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all". Its very simplistic but it produces a much better culture than what were seeing at the moment.
I hope everyone reads this because the last few weeks have been ridiculous. Were destroying and abusing the very nature of social media. Which is ironic when so many of the articles we produce ourselves describe processes to leverage social media. The sooner we get over this controversy is king phase the better. When did it become anti-social media?
Were destroying and abusing the very nature of social media. Which is ironic when so many of the articles we produce ourselves describe processes to leverage social media.< It isnt a thing that "we" can destroy. It is what it is. By definition, it is the actions and reactions of human being in a social environment. It simply reflects what it is that makes us human. I think that is sad and more than a little scarry but it simply is what it is. We all have the right to choose to participate or not and Donna has publicly announced her decision. I applaud her and desperately hope it helps to raise the bar on online social etiquette ---- but I doubt it. For me, I choose not to participate except in very rare cases, but rather observe, accept and use the data to formulate strategic plans to capitalize on the cause and effects.

New to Spinn, so I need to take a closer look at the Spinn situation. But, I can say in general that I am rather tired about Black Hat SEOS knocking White Hat SEO and their putting entirely the wrong Spinn on Natural Organic SEO.
I know Im not a bot Glen. Cant speak for Massa though.
I desphunn this, not because I didnt enjoy or agree with the article, but because, well, the whole genre of article should be avoided. It is sad an artuicle like this needed to be written, but that doesnt change the fact that these sort of "meta-discussions" are the problem, no matter what side they support. So, lets put this to bed, eh? All of it. The pro, the con, the indifferent. Lets just go back to learning and sharing, and not talking about how we learn and share, and who is right, wrong, mean, nasty, a victim, victimised or anything else. Can we? Pretty please? For Mikey :looks all coquettish:
Hmmm ... vicious nastiness. Kinda repetitive, no? Sorry, couldnt resist lol :). jk around, dont lacerate me.
I was totally going to Sphinn this earlier but I was beaten to it - great article Donna! And unfortunately, something that needs to be brought up every once in a while, as constant attacking and in-fighting dont really help anyone and can even have a negative effect on the industry as a whole.
not a bot -- cant post more than two lines :(
@massaHope you get it sorted out Bob, your posts are always worth a read
"There’s nothing left to talk about that hasn’t already been said a thousand different times, and a hundred different ways (with the other 900 times being rehashes of the same things others already said - dup content, as it were)."Google being so picky about duplicate content is the real driving force. Seems like Google just loves to snap up the latest gossip, while it totally snubs serious posts on serious subjects.
I like the article, but think we need to avoid these discussions fullstop. Well said Dionna, but collectively - ENOUGH!
