The #1 ranking page on Google and Yahoo for a killer local real estate query happens to be a domain for sale. [sarcasm]Nice job, search engines. That’s good for users.[/sarcasm]

Seeing more and more of these lately. This domain had been active for about 4 years until at least Aug ’07. Would like to say it still ranks because of existing links, but nothing more than the usual real estate junk.

Overall - it hurts the search engines . . .all that effort and $ and this is what is #1?

So any site that’s for sale shouldn’t be listed in the SERPs?I understand that you think your friend’s site offers better content, but it’s not like the site that’s ranked doesn’t offer any content. In fact, it has quite a bit of content and what I would see as usefull tools. Now maybe those tools are standard on other sites but I think your bias is making a bit bigger deal out of this than it really is.Why not just have your friend buy the site?
