About time, slackers.
Yeah but what kind of post is that for him to put on his blog. Then I tried to leave a comment but I guess 5+7 does not equal 12?
Here was my comment
Matt:
You could have at least put a picture of your cat in here. It would have been more interesting. Anyone else agree, worst Blog post of the Year?
I mean if you are just going to come out and say something like this, make it worth our time. Give us some more info.
Dispell some rumurs maybe.
I heard pagerank is going away. True?
And my site that I never did anything to besides write a couple posts a month, dropped PR from 3 to zero.
No links going out, no hidden hacked code in my theme, no link buying. I emailed webmaster central twice with no reply.
Luckily, it was just a personal blog.
But a lot of people depend on googles tools because they are almost forced to, for their business.
A lot of people are against SEO's but anyone who wants to run a business on the web, HAS to do some type of SEO if they want to get people to their site.
What a clusterf.
Why doesn't google stop making things like their new spamapedia(yes it's already got spam and worthless information in there) and just work on the things they have.
If they worked on webmaster tools and made it rockin they could charge for it and I am sure people would not mind.
Let's see some more cat's, I thought this was a personal blog?
@ifindtrends:
For someone who isn't the least bit interested in it, you sure seem to have a lot to say about it... just sayin' is all :)
@Skitzzo,
Sphunn!
Didn't know you are a PageRank freak too :-)
This is as exciting as when the new phonebooks come.
Oh I dunno, it's pretty exciting to open it up and see which firm has managed to add enough AAAAAs to their name to be the fist entry.
Just thank fek, that Phonebooks don't have any sort of PageRank system.
You are right. The new phone books are way more exciting.
I agree with the above comments but looking around the net on certain forums, blog posts and even Matt's post comments there is still a powerful wave out there that are switched onto pagerank.
I know a post that I ran some time ago, on pagerank, still delivers better-than-average traffic.
So, my overall assesment of pagerank is that is still means a lot, a helluva lot, to the masses.
And yes your right the phonebook is more exciting especially those games to see who can rip it up.
Don't you think it's smarter to educate them to pay attention to things that matter to their bottom line instead of what just matters to them because they think it's important?
I do realize that for those who sell links, people often buy them based on their TBPR, so I suppose in those instances it does affect their bottom line. But those who buy links based on TBPR need to be educated as well.
@ Jill - yep I agree education is the best way. :)
On a totally different subject I wish sphinn would have some emoticons, I personally feel that there would be less confrontation or what looks like confrontation if we had some smiley faces to play with.
Nothing like a lulz cat to brighten up an SEO's day.
If only the 'net could be more about this. :)
I stopped using Google's toolbar when they stopped listing my sites.
I don't think Matt Cutts is equiped to live in the modern world. It's lucky Google gave him a job.
