Very nice, Barry. Maybe Cuil is trying get a laugh out of all of us. While their search sucks, they do provide a chuckle when you see stuff like you highlighted in your post.
Very amusing! Got to love Dave N!
Lol funny !!! I noticed this with my name lol .. http://www.cuil.com/search?q=ankit+rawatthey are showing a cricketer pic with mah seomoz profile =]
DaveNs is my favorite. :)
This is one of the funniest Cuil posts I have seen... a close second is a comment left by the infamous Sean Maguire...
I LOLd at DaveNs "picture."This Cuil thing has to be a joke, right? I mean, like Spinal Tap, the results go up to 11 (one better than Google). The only way theyre going to kill Google is if the folks in the plex die laughing...
That Andrew Goodman picture is of the three voting rights / "Freedom Summer" workers who were slain by KKK members in Mississippi in the summer of 64 (the basis for the movie "Mississippi Burning"). The man on the right of that picture would be Andrew Goodman, the civil rights activist.Importance? High. Relevancy to "our" Andrew Goodman? Low.
Its a bit ironic that Cuil cant even find itself... :-)http://www.cuil.com/search?q=cuil&sl=long
Its also funny when punching in bush, check the 2nd result in first column ;-)http://hannescarlmeyer.de/blog/2008/07/29/cuil-launched-fast-test/
Ha ha, I didnt escape from prison - yes, that other Andrew Goodman was murdered/lynched in 1964, in attempting to campaign for black voter registration.I was going to post something like this in a couple of days :)Boy, Cuill is taking it on the chin for this stuff. I figured the Danny Sullivan entry would be messed up but its an across-the-board mess, eh?
Andrew, I should have researched the image. Looks bad in context...
Ahahahaha! A can of Spam! ROFL... I dont know which is funnier, their search results or the notion that Cuil can take on Google.
The funniest one for my name points to my wikipedia page, but has an image that says "She is Not Fair to Outward View"Umm...ok!
Are you *sure* thats not our Danny Sullivan in the race car? Ive heard he can spot a well-SEOd site faster than, um -- Speed Racer! :)We have some things to improve, no doubt. But just think how boring the search blog space could get again once we nail our image and content matching!Onward....Vince from Cuil
I think Cuils image match has a ghost in the machine. Carlins:http://sherwoodseo.blogspot.com/2008/07/cuils-10-goofiest-image-matches.html
I think the site has a great potential...I just hope Cuil will solve this problems soon..^^
Thanks Barry and thanks Cuil. Thats just what this industry needs, a good laugh. Especially Dave Ns result. This has got to be a cruil joke.
These are way too funny. They had to have done this on purpose to get the SEO community talking. What are the chances of pulling up so many hilarious photos for SEO peeps? Cuil may not be any good for searching, but at least its good for a few laughs.
Thats Cuil, (pronounced sil-ee or silly), Like "Cui bono," Latin for "To whom (is it) a benefit?"
Not impressed. My search for adoption agencies turned up "viagra" on the first page of results.
I noticed this, too. I did my own vanity search and the link to my blog had a picture of, well, I have no idea who it was, beside it. Overall, I am not very impressed with Cuil so far.
I did the company search as well...first of all our site wasnt indexed...and next to all the results for our companys profile on other sites and press releases, like everyone else, was a picture of someone who I have never seen before in my lifeunfortunately it wasnt someone "cuil" like a nascar driver or a farmer
