sugar rae writes "Anytime someone asks how a business can use Twitter effectively, most people point to the twitter accounts of big brands like Comcast and Zappos. While both companies are definitely standout examples of putting Twitter to good use, you probably aren’t marketing a household name and have a hard time seeing how your small merchant site or information site can use Twitter effectively. And by now, you’re probably sick of the “top ways” people guess or hypothesize that a commercial website could use Twitter to their advantage."

Note: This was not sphunn in some circle jerk fashion because sugar rae is a seo rockstar, an a lister, a seolebrity. I sphunn this because I thought it has very useful information for the SMB or independent seo on how to effectively use twitter to build brand awareness and increase traffic.

Commenting here cuz I’m too lazy to reg for another blog - nice case study Rae, and pretty original that. Very interesting approach as well to see how providing tech support BEFORE the sale can be a business model to gain a direct ROI from social media (as opposed to just linkbaiting). Any plans to expand to other electronics niches? Also, what’s happened since you Twittered BB owning the SERPs for their brand name? Any luck cracking the top 10? Planning a SERP domination strategy to gain several spots of your own?

I thought this was a great read and could be very applicable for a lot of companies and business owners.  @MartinBowling - It’s too bad you had to put some form of disclaimer on your description.   I’m not on Sphinn a lot but it sounds like this was added for a specific reason

Excellent article as always Rae.  I think people are quick to dismiss Twitter as a waste of time.  Or they try to use it for promotion incorrectly and don’t get results so they give up.  This proves if done right you can not only profit from Twitter promotion but you can also engage your customers in productive conversation and receive instant feedback.

Well said, and a quality return to actual information for once, although, is twitter part of SEM now (hahaha, keeping the hate alive).
