I love it when an authority blogger asks you to send him traffic to receive some love in return.
This is sick!
Although the initial intent I based on finding content valuable, I've been finding that just writing about and linking to content on authority blogger sites gets them to come visit. May not seem like a big deal now but when I'm at conferences they tend to better remember who I am.
Indeed this is the way to go. But begging for some free traffic is ... wow! Link to them, comment on their sites and they will notice you. No need for 1000+ free hits sent their way.
PS:I'm talking about serious bloggers not scammers looking for free traffic.
...5 ways?
The title is way off dude. The writer made only one suggestion: send him a shitload of traffic. And the post didn't need to be a post it could have been said in one sentence.
"But begging for some free traffic is ... wow!" The article never mentioned anything about begging for Traffic? Sending someone traffic is one way to forge a great network of "social friends" and building a good net work of people that can make things happen for you on-line is another step to on-line success.. sometimes its not what you know but who you know.. give it a try you might just end up with five top diggers and stumblers as friends, all for a bit of traffic.. sounds good to me..
Bill, thanks for bringing this post forward. It's a cool read.
...and Noobliminal, it probably would not be hard for you to muster an iota of positive energy. Give it a try... :)
It's a good idea, and like Maki said in the comments, not everyone will bite. But even if they don't notice you, your readers benefited, right?
It's an interesting post, but I actually think that this post on the TLA blog has slightly more practical advice on this topic: http://www.linkbuildingblog.com/2007/02/getting_blogger.html
