Framed pages of blogs and news sites, complete with MySpace News branding and MySpace URL, are being indexed by Google as original content, stealing search engine placement and direct links from content creators.

Some idiots say frames are no problem. Some think Google ranks framers better due to the frames. But Google does not rank those pages based on their frames. It does based on their text and titles. And MySpace is strong enough to take the place of anyone’s site for let’s say ... a title search. It’s all a matter of PR and SR (Site Reputation) muscle flexing and the big guyz take anyone down. It’s hard for Google to figure who’s the original one and I bet MySpace gets crawled more often then others. So at the end of the day they may seem to be the first to mention that .. that. And as they don’t link right, they don’t point to the right source which is the law of online citing.I’ve never used MySpace. And I may have loaded a MySpace page once in my life. Boohooohooo! iRule.

I also blogged about this and linked to SEO Black Hat for a JavaScript solution:http://www.blogstorm.co.uk/blog/myspace-stealing-your-serps-stop-them/http://seoblackhat.com/2005/11/13/frame-buster-best-javascript-ever/ At present MySpace news is pretty dead and doesn’t have much Trust so there isn’t too much to worry about.
