Nice article, good advice: ) Thanks, sphunn
Didnt realize it was so simple.
I know, for something so simple Im supprised Yahoo! or anyone for that matter hasnt released a tutorial for it until now.
The irony is that at least as far as Google is concerned, they dont seem to have a problem with the www and non-www anymore. Every site Ive checked in the last 6 months or more, Google sees both URLs as the same, even without redirects in place.
Some of those sites may have set their preferences in Webmaster Tools. I still see problems here and there, and Yahoo and Live still need a prod.
If you ever see one thats a problem, g1smd, please message me. Because Ive been actively looking and its simply not seeming to be a problem with Google. And this has been for quite some time now. And the sites Im looking at are not set up with webmaster tools. Most have no clue what that even is.
Thank you for the tip Chad, thats also a very easy way to redirect an entire store to a new domain, say, post acquisition.Theres a host of Yahoo! Store hacks out there, especially when you start digging into the legacy stores build using pure RTML.Would love to see if anyone has come up with a way to 301s at the url level to another specified page (other than the home page).
