Dana Lookadoo: Is a picture worth a thousand words? Maybe. Here is overview of a few photo editing tools you may consider. Determine your goals, first.

What type of photos do you need to create and edit?

* Avatars for a your Social Media profiles?
* Photos for Flickr, Picasa Web Albums, FaceBook, and other online sharing?
* Images for your website and ecommerce store?

How much do you want to spend? Most of us would say “nothing.” Creating quality photos doesn’t require a huge capital investment. It does take a little time and creativity.

Glad this has been helpful! I put the tools together as a result of questions from clients/friends and wanted to help them save money. Your Sphinns are such an added bonus. Thank all of you so very much!

This was awesome, Dana.  Super good post.  As Dana knows, I went nuts with making funny movies- I won’t drop egregious links... but you can find them on my twitter if you want.

I use the free community edition of Noiseware to remove noise from pics. It has many settings to remove stray pixels and chroma noise.

Just added GIMP, http://www.gimp.org, a free photo editing tool I learned about from UnclePeppers. It works on all OS. You can upload via FTP from inside the tool. It’s features are impressive. I’ve never seen anyone go crazy in one afternoon like Brian. I posted links to a couple of his creations in the comments. Brian, going to call you Gizmo Gone Wild! Thanks again, all!
