There are so many definitions for Social Media. What is Social Media really?

Social media has been around a lot longer than many would like to admit, and the definitions we see do twist and turn around.  My favorite of the ones that you list is the one from Stowe Boyd, about social media being a conversation, where the audience is no longer a passive consumer.
