Hell yeah!
My reply is: “What’s direct response writing?" And, who cares? Just another case of way too many definitions being thrown about on Sphinn. Okay, some copy writing requires the use of action words. Now what was that response that I was supposed to do after reading this SEM copy?
That's good, John, glad you don't care what direct response writing is. I'm sure your clients are thrilled about that fact as well. NOT
I am glad that you are glad, Jill.
I only speak plain English to my clients. It is called communicating your message without the use of jargon. Did you miss that simple concept, when you took Writing 101?
I love this article - so true. The 'call to action' is so often missing from webpages that I can't believe they are trying to sell something. And it has nothing to do with not using plain english or jargon. It is about getting the message across in a way that illicits an action, not merely the reader's interest.
Great post! Always in favor of content writing advice.
Anyone who manages a business should know what direct response writing is. It's the foundation of a successful marketing strategy.
Great article. It's funny... I would certainly have thought writing 101 would have covered concepts as important as persuasion and direct response. Apparently not...
How does one effectively measure direct response writing?
TBH I can't believe we're still having this type of post after all these years - not because it's not true but that some "seo" guys just aren't getting it and are still writing spammy text. Good copywriting is the bedrock (along with a well structured web pages and navigation) of any successful website and time and time again we're seeing poorly written content.
