The Washington Post reports on a planned feature of IE8 that could have grave repercussions for anyone using 3rd party analytics or ad serving software, as users may be able to block them.
"It has the potential to undermine the economies of the Internet," said Mike Zaneis, vice president of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

We’ve been discussing for a few years the prospect of Microsoft "accidently" killing Google revenues this way. It’s not the first time the alarm’s been raised, though.

Although Danny made a good point in his review of IE8 - MSFT wants to be a big online ad player itself, so it seems unlikely it would do anything that might damage that..
