Forums aren’t sexy any more & they seem ancient in web years. However, forums (especially walled gardens) remain quality traffic drivers and are still crucial channels to monitor.

I still get most of my traffic from forums. You can’t get any better advertising than interacting directly with your market.

It’s that feeling of community (like the days of BBS - sniff).  Everyone helping each other out.

Forums are definitely still alive and well, and a great way to build an online community.

Community is all about the conversations.  And people trust conversations more than anything else.  Forums are great.

Forums are communities of people gathered together to discuss topics they share in common.  Friendships are developed in forums in ways not found in blog comments or sites like Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon because there’s no reason to keep talking in those places.  With responsive forums and helpful communities, all kinds of magic happens.
